We can help you keep memories of your loved ones with you by creating adorable cuddly bears from their clothing .
The finished bear is approx 48cm (19 in) from ear to toe and when sitting they are approx 36cm (14 in) They are not intended as toys as they will contain small parts such as buttons from shirts as eyes or other motifs, so are not safe for babies or young children, as they may pose a choking hazard.
We can usually make them out of different fabrics, however T-shirts, polo shirts, sweatshirts, dress shirts & trousers, baby grows, lightweight linen, denim or corduroy would be best . We will interface the fabrics to provide the best finish for the bears to be cherished for many years to come.
It is helpful to have a selection of garments to choose a design best suited for the bears, and if you have specific request about the overall look of your new friend, please feel free to message us. We will try to accommodate personal ideas such as keeping specific parts of your loved one’s special fabrics within the design of your bear, i.e logos from clothing or other marks, or special stitches. We will endeavour to incorporate as many things from the fabrics as we can for you, however this can sometimes lead to problems with the finished result but are happy to chat through with you so we can try to get what’s important to you in the end.
Garments must arrive to us clean and laundered for best results, orders may have to be returned if we are unable to work with the fabrics, but we will try our best to give you a beautiful bear to remind you of your special person.
A few different garments can be sent to make the bears, and these can be coordinated or “scrappy” whatever you would like. The leftover fabric can be returned to you if required but this will incur an additional charge as we would send this by tracked post in addition to the finished bear. Alternatively, we also make memory cushions which can be found here on our website, if you purchase a bear you can receive a 10% discount on the cost of an addition cushion or additional bears to get the most from your fabrics.
Fabric equivalent to 4/5 adult dress shirts would yield a bear and cushion with fabric leftover and offer enough choice to have a “scrappy” feel to finished products.
Once we have received your fabrics, we should be able to complete your bears within 3 to 4 weeks depending on our current orders.
